…. in the clinic opposite the bus station in Fuengirola. I celebrate this by moving to a smaller office in Budwig Center, easily accessible in Torremolinos.

I am happy and grateful for my time in “down town” Fuengirola. This location has been the setting for my work since my start as a member of the medical association in Malaga in 1995. I have been here in Costa del Sol since the early 1980s and practiced acupuncture and nutritional guidance after my medical degree and internship in 1993, while I waited for approval of my title in Spain and thus admission to the Malaga Association of Medicine. It came in 1995.

After a couple of wonderful years of work in both Spain and Denmark, I stayed in Denmark in the years 1997 to 2000 where I did my specialization as a GP, consultant.

After which, on a sunny December day in the year 2000, I really started working as a GP and a Health Doctor in Fuengirola, and that has been the case ever since.

My health work is and has always been driven by a passion for health and curiosity to meet the person where he or she is. Health is more than just the physical level. It is about well-being on many levels, both physically, emotionally, mentally, soulfully and spiritually. Health involves the whole spectrum – a holistic spectrum. In fact, I perceive our health and well-being as a hologram, where it can be said in a very simplified form that light from different light sources together form a three-dimensional image. If one of the light sources changes, the entire hologram changes. This also happens in our health and well-being: For example, if we are stressed or sad, the cold settles more easily in the body. In the same way, when we feel like victims in the hamster wheel and stress around to make the ends meet, we more often get sick and frustrated. In stress and fear, the body is in alert mode and lives off of minimum maintenance and no buildup. In the long run, we wear out and get sick if we do not switch from the ”hamster wheel/fear” gear to the ”flow/love” gear. It is different when we are in flow. Here, joy and creativity strengthen the immune system. A nice walk does not only give stronger muscles and tendons, but also a different view and often a new perspective on everyday life. Often it is our own storytelling that keeps us in a certain thread. Here it is about noticing that most closely felt external changes are an immediate consequence of changing our own story-telling in our inner perception. That we can change.

If, for example, we change just a small thing in everyday life to a life-giving and enriching state, well, then we are affected by all health and well-being parameters. For example, if you have a singer in your stomach and think it sounds false and humming, then take a little training and discover how much fun it is to let go of your voice. Often it takes so little for us to have a completely different life-enriching and empowering perspective. When we enjoy life, there is flow in the body and the cells respond promptly and not only regenerate, but also rebuild and form new tissue.

Recently I came across the first article in the Danish magazine Solkysten from June 2001, where Per-Ole Dønstrup interviewed me about my work. It’s funny to see that even though a lot has changed in my daily work, I am still a health detective and use various methods such as microscopy of live and dry blood (oxidative stress test), medical thermography and acupuncture as well as with lifestyle coaching.

I will continue to do so in a new framework. Now I am working in a consultation office at the Budwig Center, where Kathy, who is the manager, performs the medical thermography. We already have a good collaboration on this, and I look forward to being a colleague and getting closer with the Budwig team in my daily work.

Budwig Center is located close to the Palacio Congresso on the outskirts of Torremolinos.

If you come by car, at the large roundabout with the high tourist monument, turn right towards Torremolinos and in the next roundabout, take the third exit and then the first road on the right. Approx. 100 meters down the road is the parking garage Parking Municipal el Congreso under the large square. From here there is approximately 100 meters walking distance to the clinic.

If you want to park for free, just drive straight on approximately 300 meters to the back of the Centro Culturel Pablo Ruiz Picasso. From here there is approximately 300 meters  walking distance to the clinic.

If you come by bus from Malaga or Fuengirola (bus 125) to the bus terminal in Torremolinos, there is  approximately 300 meters to walk.
