“Always Already Loved” is the title of Peter Bastian’s latest and last book. A gem, one of the rare of the kind that can be read over and over again. There are many layers in the book, which is the essence of Peter Bastian’s life and perseverance.

Peter Bastian was a physicist and musician. In recent years, he had been sick of leukemia and perceived every moment as a gift, a mixture of being newborn and convicted of death.Where modern spiritual traditions are about meditating to obtain love or being virtuous to it, about love as something that deserves, Peter found the unconditional love. He found PEACE where he felt “always already loved”. Love just was there, whether he was good, diligent, or not.

Peter describes how he experiences our culture as a vertical understanding, from here and beyond, where it is never good enough. A “demand-in” and comparative culture, and a strive to be better than you are. From here to an understanding of the world where it is always good enough in a sense. The horizontal culture is about being always loved. You can not live up to it, but you are always already loved. Love in advance. By nature, love is unconditional. When we want to be good enough, it becomes conditional love.

There are uplifting and strong messages that are welcome in these transformation times. They shake the foundations in a lovely, insistent and loving way. “I can see how the idea of the good, the higher and the best version of myself has been a driving force, but also how that performance has created hostility in my own life.” Peter writes.

In the past, it was good to be conversational. Here, Bastian serves a new perspective: “When we meet at the moment with astonishment readiness, we are well-equipped. ”

Happy reading.

Peter Bastian played both classical and rhythmic bassoon. He was a member of the Danish Blast Quintet, taught at the music conservatory and toured with the Bazaar, which was an unusual music group with improvisational sound images for bassoon, hammondorgel and congas.

He published several books. “Enter the Music”, 1987 and “Master’s Teachers” in 2011. Peter goes against the analytical music theory and starts with the music as a state of consciousness.

“Always Already Loved” is about how Bastian came to reconciliation with himself – peace in his own house. And after a long life, have found a new view of love. The book was made by a conversation at Arresødal Hospice, where the author Tor Nørretranders visited 11 days before Peter’s death. The two friends spoke through all that Peter Bastian had at heart before he died at the age of 73. An easily edited bandwriting became the book’s text. The book’s pictures are selected by Lars H.U.G. Among the drawings and paintings performed by Peter Bastian through a long life.
